Great show, as LuAnn posted for us earlier, we had a blast and will return for G15.

Now for the rest of the story. After leaving the motel Monday, I got stuck in a left side exit ramp. Seeing a sign that said I-20 I jumped into that lane and saw the POS sign. Car pool lane or whatever. As soon as I could get out of that lane we did but not before passing a GHP Charger sitting in the runoff lane. He proceded to pass LuAnn, by herself in the same lane and pulled me over. I believe he wanted to see if I would run his Charger. I pulled over and told him what happened and that I was not from there and was not familiar with these lanes or highways. He went back to his car and I thought he would give me a warning after checking my registration and license. But no he gave me a ticket. I politely thanked him for informing me about the dangerous thing I had done and told him I was glad no one got hurt by my dangerous action on such a busy traffic day. He instructed me to get a little speed up before merging into traffic and I told him that was no problem. I have watched how traffic works in ATL cutting two three or even four lanes at a time. So as soon as I saw 18 feet between two cars, anyhow there is two black marks where I was pulled. We got out of GA as quick as possible.
Tuesday, bummed about being at work, working on a Dodge Caravan, and some other turd, but remembering all the nice cars and great people at G15, I just kept smiling and working. Then one of the bosses came to me and told me that the WS6 that belongs to one of the service techs had been ran into over the weekend. He had seen my car and requested that I fix his. Boost the ego! Work is kind of slow so anything that hits my stalls helps. After work I was checking out all of my pics from G14 and went to copy them to my puter. They disappeared from the card and puter. Bummed again but I still have memories and all the great pics on the boards. Thanks
Now I have my sights set on the f-body beach bash here in Myrtle Beach. Look forward to seeing all of you there.
BTW still haven't figured my MPG but I stopped for gas 8 times in 4 days.
There are no such things as warning when you get stopped by the GHP. They dont use common sense here anymore nor show compassion. But you have to remember, they hear that same story everyday when people are caught in the HOV lane.
I'm sure they do but I do have SC tags and license. Checked with some guys at work from up north and they say the car pool lane isn't even in effect on weekends and holidays. I just hope I don't get another ticket for the entrance back to the highway. They said to call them in 9 days to find out what to do. I've never heard of a ticket that didn't list the amount of the fine or some dollar figure. Wonder if I should even call?
Danny.....looking forward to the Beach Bash as well, and as I PMd you.....we could use a little help on the trailor parking and cones if at all possible! I'll give you a call this weekend to talk about some of this stuff!

Carpool lanes here are 24/7 365. If you did'nt get a fine amount on the ticket then you'll have to call before your court date and either pay it or go to court. They have no mercy here, especially GSP. Try to talk the solicitor and see if you can get some lienency seeing you are from out of town and most cities dont have carpool lanes on weekends and holidays. Come to think of it, it is not clearly posted but then again I haven't looked for it. Good luck on that.
Yes I got your pm. The only place I can think of for trailer parking is Waccamaw pottery. That's where they used to hold the street rod show. This year there were still some trailers there even with the show at the old mall. Depends on where you stay. In Conway where I live some motels have Trailer parking and the rates may be a little cheaper. Conway is only 10 miles from beach. Also was going to check about parking some trailers at closed dealership next to one that I work at. Will call friend with SCHP about traffic cones Monday.
Damon, that's about what I have planned. Just hope that the officer wasn't too po'ed. Thanks for the advice. All help appreciated.
Alright.....it'd be best if the trailor parking was near the host hotels, which are listed on the site.
Like you said, parking is hard to find but I'll see what I can come up with.
Nice to see you had a good time as well. The gathering is by far one of the best shows around. You have a nice car, nice to see some thirdgens. Seems they are picking up and I get to see some awesome cars.

Sorry to hear about your encounter with the GA police. Doesn't surprise me one bit though. GA police suck. I haven't seen one do anything good for the public yet. Mainly just annoying traffic cops out for money, not to protect. Like the cop that sat in the parking lot of hotel saturday night. Wasn't there to admire the car, just there to be an asshole. If I ran the show, he wouldn't have been there. He would have been asked to leave since he did not pay to be a part of the show haha. I saw him multiple times trying to be sneaky and sit at the front of the hotel facing towards the car show area trying to catch someone doing something. I have no respect for cops like that. Only the ones that show courtesy, and are actual heroes gain my respect. Traffic cops that are only out to catch someone going a little fast don't deserve to have their job. Some may not agree with me. but it's the truth, and most would agree with me.

Sounds like the reason you got pulled over was for being in the car pool lane? How is that dangerous though? I must not understand something correctly. But if the reason was for just being in the car pool lane by yourself, then that confirms why I hate cops.

/rant lol
That asshole in the hotel parking lot was hired security.
