Found out that I have a bad O2 sensor on the driver side today which isn't the worst news in the world, but I noticed the car making a similar sounding whistling sound when I got home! Angry Guess I'll have the guy check it, but if its another exhaust header gasket on the side that was just fixed last summer, I'm at a loss to explain it. Is it possible that an exhaust system could be too tight and cause this as a chronic problem? I'm really at my wit's end trying to figure this out...I'm about ready to rip out the exhaust system and start over....
What brand of headers are you using? What gaskets? Generally speaking, I've had better luck with OEM GM gaskets on most popular header brands. Some of the more economical headers such as pacesetters, hedmans, flowtechs, etc. have relatively thin flanges, and distort easily if over torqued. I'd check the flange to verify it was straight, and have it surfaced if need be.

Oh yeah, I'd begin the process with a big cup of... apple juice. Wink
The headers are SLP ceramic coated shortys...I am unsure if there is a leak or not at this point...I'm taking it back to the shop next week for the O2 sensor and I'll have my guy check the headers again.
