Throwing out an idea here, to see if anyone is interested.

September 18, 19, and 20 will be the simi annual Rod Run in Pigeon Forge Tenn. Probably lots of you have been to it. The official Grand Rod Run is held at the Grand Hotel in Pigeon Forge, however the the event spills over into the whole town, with an unofficial show all up and down the strip, roughly four miles both sides of US Highway 441. It brings so much business into the town, that the business owners are tolerant of the cars parked up and down the strip.

Will anyone be interested in getting a group of F-body people togather at the Rod Run? There are lots of cool things going on in Pigeon Forge, including the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which would be a great place to have a cruise. If this is something that is going to happen, we need to be working on lodging, as the motels and hotels fill up pretty fast.

Betty and I are off to the Rod Run. We will be in Gatlinburg on Thursday morning, and will be coming home on Saturday after lunch. I have to work in the ER on Saturday and Sunday night. At least it pays time and a half...

If anybody wants to have a meet of Fbodies, while in Pegion Forge, my cell is 828-399-9580.

You going?
By Gawd!
The Rod Run was Great as Usual. It would have been better if it had not rained most of the week and weekend...

The next Rod Run is in mid April. Maybe there will be less conflicts with other events if anyone is interested in going.

We drove the usually trailered Bird over, and the car recieved lots of attention. On Friday evening, the altenator failed. For some reason that I do not understand, most of the parts books list the F code cars incorrectly, and the result is that we could not find an altenator.

My choices were to have the car towed back over the mountains to the NC side, however decided to buy two new 84N battereis and a charger. We started off in the morning with three hot batteries, and the first one lasted until Newfound Gap. The rain, wipers, lights were not helping the situatiuon. Battery number 2 lasted until we got home, and the car would still start. Got the new altenator the next week, and the extra batteries are charged and in the bass boat, so all worked out well.

Looking forward to the next Gathering!

Next year at the Rod Run, I am planning on entering the car in the show, and we will be staying at the Grand Hotel.
