how can we get ahold of the judging/scoring sheets from the show? we gotta know what areas to improve in for last year! i know most shows will give these out no problem, didnt know if this one was the same.

We do not return the judging sheets from this show for several reasons including budget, manpower, and the judging criteria for all classes is cleanliness and attention to detail; not technical correctness. Also it would take a 1000 point system to point to the exact point loss, and this is not that type of show. We look for all areas to be clean including jambs, and the under hood areas including the overflow and washer tank area. If the car has been modified stray wires running all over the place loses points. Many cars lost interior points for dirt in the door panel pockets and armrests, and dirt between the seat and door sill.
The best advice I can give is when you think your car is ready to be judged have a friend or club member go over the car and encourage them to find flaws. CCCF does this, and it really improves the quality of all the club cars.
I am not sure whom did my car but I must say I try my best to get it all right the first time........thanks for the attension on my car.

1. if someone at the show ask for the sheet , why would that be a problem .. that takes 1-2 min to find ..i'll do it free of charge
2.i know of 3 cars that were cleaner than the car that won my class... although his car is very nice don't get me wrong ...
3.then the winning car should have been docked points for not having the wire mod ..
4.great idea ... had 4 peeps look mine over

heard the guy say there was alot of cars that tied in our class .. never a tie in a car show .. go look under the car and see who really spends time cleaning ... i know you don't judge undercarriage .. but that should be a tie breaker ...

sorry for the rant and i will be coming to the gathering as long as it happens ... thanks to all and see you next year
Folks, this is not that kind of show. Volunteer judges, limited time, as it says at the beginning of the awards presentation, this is a 'gathering' of f-body enthusiasts where a car show breaks-out. That is the primary reason why there are no ten-foot trophies, and no cash awards. Should there be an outcry of fairness, the staff could decide only to do class awards rather then winners like the Reunion class is now. I humbly suggest for this show, spend a little less time detailing so you can more fully enjoy the time spent with friends rather than stressing the competition.

so you don't think that the show is a big draw for cars ? and if there were no show that it would still be as big ?

Precisely why I entered the reunion class. I simply don't give 2 hoots if I take home a trophy or award. It's nice to see different people win, too. God knows I've got my share of Gathering awards, Congrats to the first time winners!
Thanks to Jim and the Gathering staff for making the show and judging process fair and fun for everyone. As one of the volunteer judges, I can say that without a doubt Jim and the crew spend as much time as necessary to ensure that everyone car gets a fair chance of winning. As others have said, it's all about fellowship, having fun, and enjoying the cars.

There were cars in the show that were obviously beaters. There were cars that looked like they had never been driven, maybe even stored in a giant zip-lok bag. We all seen them. The class of cars that I judged were all very nice cars. There were no beaters in that group. There was one car in my group that stood out from the others without exception. There was no doubt that the class winner was the best example present. There was a second car in the class that was very close in condition to the the winning car, just one point difference in a 100 point scale. As Jim said the cars are judged on mostly on lack of damage, lack of wear, neatness, and cleanliness. Using the criteria established by the club, the cars speak for themselves.

We are planning on returning to G-14, and gatherings in the future, and I plan to continue to participate in the judging process. I am also willing to participate in any other jobs needed by the Andy and the gathering staff.

I have been active in the muscle car/pony car hobby for 36 years, and this club is without a doubt the best planned, best run show anywhere.
I would like to see the scoring sheets also, just to see where I could improve my car. I was there for the fun first and just happened to get an award for my car. I met alot of nice people and will be back next year. By the way did anybody find Stu Pudasol??Search And for the awrards crowd this is how it is done Groupwave
Thanks for a great show and good times.
