Id go there even if there wen NO trophies at all. Itsa great time with great friends which in this day and age is getting harder and harder to do.
Im with russ on this. it is a gathering more then a car show. not to mention plaques are expensive. we are all lucky that there were so many. I havebeen to car shows with over 1000 cars and there are like 5 trophies.
Not to mention there was only a 100 point scale. and volunteer judges. most "pro judging" shows have a 1000 point scale. you would be best off to find someone with a fbody and have them suggest some things

My car got class winner for 82-87 stock bird. This is the first time it's won anything. I was starting to get a complex...

The car has been in a couple of 1000 point shows. The car always attracts attention from the crowds because there are not to many 28K mile original 23 year-old cars out there. Thirdgens don't get a lot of attention from the judges in 1000 point shows. I have been told by the "experts" at the 1000 point shows that anything past a second gen is a throw-away car, so they certainly are not going to give us an award

. There are to many "classics" to choose from. Don't get me wrong, I love the old f-bodies and the 4th gens also. I am impressed that fbodygathering allows us thirdgener's to come and play on their field

.
Hi kyles2000z,
Well,it would take a 1000 point system to point to the exact point loss, and this is not that type of show. We look for all areas to be clean including jambs, and the under hood areas including the overflow and washer tank area. If the car has been modified stray wires running all over the place loses points. Many cars lost interior points for dirt in the door panel pockets and armrests, and dirt between the seat and door sill.
Thanks
